WORCESTER -- The Engineers of WPI continued their momentum from yesterday as they produced, once again, several personal and seasonal best times as the Swimming and Diving team competed at the second day of the 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference morning session.
Senior
Rachel Tsang (Acton, MA) produced the 2nd fastest time of the morning in the 100 fly as she hit a season best time of 1:02.26. Sophomore
Veronica Finucane-Tuccio (Excelsior, MN) produced a mark of 1:05.71, also a season-best, and would have ranked 4th in the final tonight. On the men's side, sophomore
Aidan Domanico (New Windsor, NY) was just .04 off his personal best, as he posted the fastest time of the meet, with his 52.65. Producing the second fastest time of the morning, and his fastest this season, was sophomore
Patrick Tirch (Poughkeepsie, NY), who recorded a result of 53.60.
Domanico was not the lone swimmer from WPI to post the fastest time of the morning, as fellow sophomore
Allie Marvell (Nashua, NH) went 5:20.93 in the women's 500 free, while
Gavin McCullough (Colorado Springs, CO) equaled her result in the men's 500 free with the senior posting the fastest time of the morning, 4:51.90, a mark that is just.08 off of his personal best. Also close to their PB was first-year
Michael Webb (Medway, MA) whose 4:54.24, would have been the 3rd fastest result of the morning.
The men's 50 free and women's 200 breast were equally as fertile hunting grounds for the Engineers as junior
Dean Doubek (Arnold, MD) and sophomore
Keegan Rowe (Harpswell, ME) produced the top and 3rd fastest results of the morning, with the Maryland native going 20.98, while the Mainer went 21.89. Both Massachusetts natives,
Jasmine Lam (Dracut, MA) and
Sophie Robinson (Westboro, MA) followed the same pattern with Lam's 2:29.79 topping the field in the 200 Breaststroke, while Robinson's new personal best of 2:35.96, would have placed 3rd into the final.
The men's 200 breast saw multiple personal bests as
Brian Hall (Westford, MA) stopped the clock in 2:12.37, a drop of nearly five seconds from his time just three weeks ago. Fellow junior
Jack Werb (Raynham, MA) also produced a new best time as his 2:22.63 sliced nearly four seconds off his time from this meet last year.
Sophomore
Sarah Kang (Richmond, VA) produced a lifetime best, time-trialing the 400 IM, as the sophomore went 4:45.86, bettering her best from 2022.
Sophomore
Tom Fitzgerald (East Lomgmeadow, MA) and first year
Aaron Lakin (Hamden, CT) dominated on the 1 meter spring board as the pair earned 368.05 and 321.65 points respectively, the two highest scores in the event.
WPI concludes competition in the three-day NEWMAC meet with swimming at 10am on Sunday morning followed by diving at in the early afternoon.
