Medford, MA ---
Greyson Baldizar (Sudbury, MA) went 2-for-4 with five RBI, including a two-run homer and a three-run double, but WPI was edged 8-7 in 11 innings by Tufts Wednesday afternoon in the Engineers' final non-conference game of the season.
WPI slips to 15-20 overall, while Tufts improves to 25-9.

Baldizar powered the WPI offense, while
Andrew Flamini (Watertown, MA) added three hits and scored a run, and
Liam Keblin (Newton, MA) chipped in a 2-for-4 effort.
Chuck Cappello (Southboro, MA) drove in a run, and
Zachary Roethlein (Gurnee, IL) reached base three times. For Tufts,
Jack Kamin (Shrewsbury, MA) went 4-for-6 with two RBI, while
Cole Bohane (Hingham, MA) collected three hits and two RBI.

Tufts struck first with two runs in the opening inning, highlighted by an RBI double from Kamin and a run-scoring groundout by
Malcolm Whitfield (Dedham, MA).

WPI answered in the second as Baldizar launched a two-run homer to right-center, tying the game at 2-2.

The Jumbos responded with a three-run second inning, taking advantage of traffic on the bases to build a 5-2 lead behind RBI hits from Bohane and Kamin along with a sacrifice fly by
Tate Bannish (Wellesley, MA).
The Engineers surged ahead in the fourth. Baldizar delivered again with a bases-clearing double to even the score before Keblin brought home the go-ahead run on a fielder's choice to make it 6-5.
WPI extended the lead to 7-5 in the sixth when Cappello singled up the middle to plate Flamini.
Tufts chipped away in the bottom half with another sacrifice fly from Bannish to make it 7-6, then tied the game in the ninth on Bohane's RBI single.
Both teams were held scoreless into the 11th before Tufts loaded the bases with two outs.
Nick Banner (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) drew a walk to force in the winning run and seal the 8-7 victory.

On the mound,
Ethan Smith (Hanson, MA) provided strong relief for WPI, allowing no runs over 3.1 innings, while
Brian Riley (Portland, ME) surrendered just one unearned run in two innings.
Mason Walls (Pearland, TX) was tagged with the loss despite battling through 3.2 innings.

WPI closes out NEWMAC play Saturday with a Senior Day doubleheader against Babson at Clark beginning at noon, while Tufts opens its NESCAC best-of-three quarterfinal series against Hamilton Friday at 3pm.
