Westwood, MA --- Nine members of the WPI women's basketball team were named to the 2026 Winter NEWMAC Academic All-Conference team, as announced by the league office. The Engineers' nine honorees ranked in a tie for second among the conference's teams, behind only Smith's 12 nods.
Seniors Corinn Ouellette (Trumbull, CT), Megan Stone (Hanson, MA), and Delaney MacPhetres (Amherst, MA) each collected their third consecutive Academic All-Conference honor.
Juniors Emmy Allyn (Rutland, MA), Allison Fullem (Underhill, VT), Femke Jansen (North Granby, CT), Leila Nielsen (New York, NY), and Hailey Zembrzuski (Southington, CT) all garnered the distinction for the second straight season, while senior Kayleigh Carson (Seymour, CT) earned the accolade for the first time in her career.
To qualify for Academic All-Conference recognition, student-athletes must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or 4.35 (on a 5.0 scale) following the 2025 fall semester, achieved at least sophomore academic standing, and been a member of the varsity team for the full season.
The NEWMAC is an association of 12 selective academic institutions: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Salve Regina University, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, that are committed to providing high quality competitive athletic opportunities for student-athletes within an educational and respectful environment that embodies the NCAA Division III Philosophy. The conference also partners with eight Associate Members: Brandeis University (Women's Lacrosse, 2026-2027), New York University (Men's Volleyball, 2026-2027), Norwich University (Football), Simmons College (Rowing), SUNY Maritime College (Football), SUNY New Paltz (Men's Volleyball, 2026-2027), U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (Football), and Vassar College (Men's Volleyball, 2026-2027), while sponsoring 20 sports.
