WORCESTER — The WPI Athletics department concludes its 2025–2026 WPI Athletics Celebration by recognizing the outstanding academic achievements of the Engineers' varsity programs throughout the academic year.
WPI's student-athletes continued to demonstrate their commitment to excellence in the classroom, combining for a 3.60 overall department team grade-point average during the 2025–2026 academic year on Boynton Hill.
By the Numbers:
3.60 — Overall Department Team GPA
WPI's varsity programs combined to produce a 3.60 overall department team GPA during the 2025–2026 academic year.
3.62 — Women's Teams Average GPA
WPI's women's programs combined for a 3.62 average team GPA.
3.58 — Men's Teams Average GPA
WPI's men's programs combined for a 3.58 average team GPA.
3.74 — Top Overall and Men's Team GPA
Baseball posted a department-leading 3.74 team GPA, earning the highest mark among all WPI varsity programs and men's teams.
3.71 — Top Women's Team GPA
Women's track and field led WPI's women's programs with a 3.71 team GPA.

5. Women's Cross Country — 3.67
T-3. Women's Soccer — 3.68
T-3. Men's Cross Country — 3.68

Most Improved
Football and men's soccer recorded the department's largest year-over-year improvements, with each program increasing its team GPA by 0.05.
Baseball, women's basketball, men's rowing and field hockey also improved their team GPAs from the previous academic year.

This release concludes the 2025–2026 WPI Athletics Celebration, which highlighted the defining moments, academic accomplishments and award recipients from across the Engineers' varsity programs.
