WORCESTER --- The WPI Athletics department continues its 2025-2026 WPI Athletics Celebration by recognizing the outstanding academic accomplishments of the Engineers' student-athletes.
From conference academic honors to national recognition, WPI student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom while representing the university at the highest levels of NCAA Division III athletics.
By the Numbers
4 — College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-Americans
Four WPI student-athletes earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honors during the 2025-2026 academic year.
69 — CSC Academic All-District Selections
WPI produced a school-record 69 CSC Academic All-District selections during the 2025-2026 academic year. The total represented 68 individual student-athletes, with
Bailey Allmon earning recognition in both women's soccer and track and field/cross country.
The Engineers were represented in football, soccer, field hockey, volleyball, basketball, swimming and diving, baseball, softball, track and field, cross country, wrestling and women's rowing.
245 — NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Selections
Sixteen WPI programs combined for 245 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference selections.

38 — Football Leads the Way
Football recorded the department's highest total with 38 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honorees. Men's track and field followed with 27 selections, while baseball placed a conference-leading 26 student-athletes on its Academic All-Conference team.
17 — Softball Scholar-Athletes
Softball placed 17 student-athletes on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete list following its historic 2026 campaign.
8 — NABC Honors Court Selections
Men's basketball earned the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award and placed eight student-athletes on the NABC Honors Court.
National and Regional Academic Recognition:
WPI programs also collected academic distinctions from their respective national coaches associations and other organizations.
Football student-athletes were recognized by the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society, while men's and women's soccer produced United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region honorees. Field hockey earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Squad and Scholars of Distinction recognition.
Volleyball received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, and men's and women's swimming and diving earned College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America recognition following the fall campaign. Baseball collected the American Baseball Coaches Assocation (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, while softball produced 17 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes.
The men's and women's cross country and track and field programs also earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) team and individual academic accolades.
The WPI Athletics Celebration will continue by recognizing the achievements, defining moments and award recipients from each of the Engineers' varsity programs.
