Mike DeSavage announced the hiring of
Adam Coffin as a full-time member of the athletic training staff ahead of the 2026-27 academic year.
"Adam brings a strong combination of experience and enthusiasm to our Sports Medicine staff," stated DeSavage. "He has already gained valuable experience working with student-athletes at both the high school and collegiate levels including serving as a head athletic trainer at Palmer High School. We are excited to have Adam join our team and look forward to seeing him continue to grow as an athletic trainer while providing outstanding care to our student-athletes."
Prior to arriving in Worcester, Coffin served as the head athletic trainer at Palmer High School during the 2025-26 academic year, providing comprehensive medical coverage for the school's athletic programs. His clinical work included orthopedic evaluations, therapeutic exercise and modalities, injury prevention, rehabilitation, concussion evaluation and return-to-play programming.
"I am incredibly excited to join the WPI community and athletic training staff," remarked Coffin. "I look forward to working with the athletic training staff and student-athletes and helping them continue to achieve their goals in their respective sports. I hope to make a positive impact at an impressive academic and athletic institution."
A native of South Deerfield, Massachusetts, Coffin earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training and movement science with a concentration in preventative health and physical activity, along with a minor in coaching, from Westfield State University in 2024.
