Myles Lakin (Reading, MA) made 10 saves, but Trinity scored once in each of the second and third quarters to blank visiting WPI, 2-0, Wednesday evening at Robin L. Sheppard Field.

Trinity applied pressure from the outset, putting seven shots toward the WPI cage and earning four penalty corners in the opening quarter. Lakin kept the Bantams off the scoreboard with four saves, including stops on
Lindsay Rogers (Norwood, MA),
Tatum Stickney (Byfield, MA),
Claire Griffith (Westfield, MA) and
Fiona Murphy (Windsor, CT), while the Trinity defense also blocked several WPI attempts.

WPI generated its first shot early in the second quarter when
Ava Walker (Grafton, MA) put a shot on target that Trinity goalkeeper
Sydney Korkosz (Thousand Oaks, CA) turned aside at 15:47. The Bantams continued to pressure, earning two more penalty corners before Lakin denied
Riley Harrington (Longmeadow, MA) at 24:33. Trinity stayed on the attack and
Brooke DiBiase (Chatham, NJ) scored at 24:33 to give the hosts a 1-0 lead at halftime.

The Engineers earned a penalty corner and put two shots toward the cage in the third quarter, with Korkosz making a save on
Sophie Papamechail (Danvers, MA) at 38:40. Lakin answered with saves on
Nina Falkson (Dedham, MA) and DiBiase before Trinity earned back-to-back penalty corners. Harrington then converted off a feed from Stickney at 40:12 to double the Bantams' advantage, while Harrington later hit the post with just over three minutes remaining in the period.

Trinity finished with a 22-5 advantage in shots, including a 12-2 edge in shots on goal, while earning 11 penalty corners to two for the Engineers. Lakin finished with 10 saves for
WPI, marking the ninth double-digit save performance of the goalkeeper's career and third of the season, while Korkosz made two stops for the Bantams. Walker and Papamechail accounted for WPI's two shots on goal, while DiBiase led all players with six shots and four shots on target.

Both teams return to their respective conference schedules Saturday with 11am road contests. WPI travels to Springfield for a NEWMAC matchup, while Trinity heads to Colby for a NESCAC contest.
