Greenwich, NY --- Freshman Callan Stabler (Niskayuna, NY) led six Engineers to collegiate-best 6K performances as the WPI women's cross country team finished ninth at the RPI Fairgrounds Showdown, hosted by Rensselaer at the Washington County Fairgrounds on Saturday.

Stabler completed the course in 23:07.4 to place 58th overall, lowering her previous best by 33.3 seconds. Junior Catherine Daly (Groton, MA) followed in 71st with a time of 23:36.1, improving her collegiate best by 16.3 seconds, while classmate Emma Conway (Suffield, CT) trimmed 29.9 seconds from her previous mark to finish 73rd in 23:41.3.

Graduate student Bethany Brown (Allentown, PA) crossed 84th in 23:56.1, bettering her previous best by 25.4 seconds. Freshman Scout Lynass (Shoreline, WA) completed the scoring five in 89th with a time of 24:03.9, a 25.9-second improvement. All five WPI scorers recorded collegiate bests and finished within 56.5 seconds of one another.

Sophomore Kayleigh Carnazza (Virginia Beach, VA) placed 92nd in 24:12.8, followed immediately by senior Grace Connell (Far Hills, NJ), whose 24:13.6 clocking marked a collegiate best by 13.4 seconds. Sophomore Sabrina Cady (Lowell, MA) finished 117th in 24:59.3, while freshman Katherine Horgan (Ashburnham, MA) rounded out the Engineers' contingent in 125th at 25:35.8.

WPI totaled 270 points to place ninth among 16 scoring teams, ahead of Utica (282). No. 18 SUNY Geneseo captured the team championship with 24 points, followed by No. 13 Vassar (66), host RPI (84), Oswego State (96) and St. Lawrence (123).

Vassar's Haley Schoenegge claimed the individual title, completing the 6K course in 20:49.2.
