Bill Graham, your remarkable talents and unique dedication
to athletics made you a three-sport star at the "Two Towers." Your
superlative achievements in basketball, football, and baseball
earned you 11 varsity letters, but the supreme courage you
displayed in overcoming injury and pain characterized your
relentless desire to succeed.
As a two-year captain of the basketball team, your dynamic
scoring abilities and terrific court sense eared you the admiration
of both teammates and opponents. Despite missing most of your
junior season with a severe injury suffered in football, you
finished with 339 career points and let all area collegiate scorers
in 1930.
Your talents also spurred the football and baseball teams on to
tremendous success. As a fleet-footed end on the football team,
your speed and agility made you a threat to score each time you
touched the ball. In baseball, your pitching arm earned you
distinction as the ace fot he Engineer staff. Among your many
triumphs was a masterful one-hit 12-strikeout performance against
Clark University in 1929.
A true campus leader and member of Skull, your drive and
competiteve spirit served as a source of inspiration for all who
knew you.
Bill Graham, it is with extreme gratitude and admiration
that we recognize you this evening with your induction as a member
of the WPI Athletic Hall of Fame.
