Rick Ferrari, your achievements and spirited dedication earn you
a place among the esteemed members of the WPI athletic community. A
winner of eight varsity letters in football and baseball, your
leadership and competitive desire will never be forgotten.
As a running back on the football team, your explosive running
ability and rugged style earned you All-New England honors in 1950.
Despite having your senior year curtailed by injury, you still
managed to rank among the leading rushers and scorers at WPI in
your era. Few will ever forget how you kicked the winning points in
WPI's one-point victories over Massachusetts in 1949 and 1950.
Your dynamic personal characteristics also were well regarded by
your teammates and coaches as you were elected co-captain as a
junior.
in the springtime, your interests and talents were displayed on
the baseball diamond where you garnered four letters and were
regarded as one of the finest outfielders in New England.
As an undergraduate you didn't limit yourself just to athletic
pursuits, as you played an active role in campus affairs. your
popularity was evidenced by the fact that you were elected class
president in both your junior and senior years. Additional honors
included induction into Skull and Pi Delta Epsilon, the journalism
honor society.
Interestingly, your athletic and journalistic talents were
together as a collegian as you served as sports editor of Tech
News.
