Matt Kelly returns for his 11th season at WPI and his eighth as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach.

Under Kelly’s leadership, WPI has produced two of the most prolific offensive seasons in program history. In 2019, the Engineers broke the single-game scoring record three times, eclipsing 50 points in six games and scoring 438 total points across 11 contests. The 2017 squad added 354 points and set numerous school records.
During Kelly’s tenure, the Engineers have seen:

• 30 All-Conference selections
• 2 All-Region honorees
• 2 D2/D3 Writers selections
• 1 Conference Offensive Player of the Year
• 20 school records broken
• A 41-31 overall record during his seven seasons as offensive coordinator

Before joining WPI, Kelly coached at all three NCAA levels: as a defensive backs coach at Pace (DII), a defensive assistant at Rhode Island (DI), and a running game coordinator/offensive line coach at his alma mater (DIII), where he also served as academic coordinator.

In addition to coaching, Kelly teaches physical education and serves as a home event manager for WPI Athletics.
