Sal Malignaggi begins his first season at WPI as the Running Backs Coach under Head Coach Chris Robertson.

A four-year letter winner at James Madison University (FBS) under Curt Cignetti (2020–2023), Malignaggi helped the Dukes to a 38-8 overall record, two Sun Belt East Division titles, and an appearance in the 2023 Armed Forces Bowl—the program’s first FBS bowl game.

He completed his collegiate playing career at Campbell University (FCS) in 2024 under Coach Braxton Harris.

Before college, Malignaggi starred at BB&N (Buckingham Browne & Nichols), a perennial ISL powerhouse, under Coach Mike Willey.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management from James Madison in 2023.
