NEWMAC Coaching Staff of the Year: 2022-23, 2024-25

Recent graduate Kahleb Downing is now on the bench as a volunteer assistant coach for his fourth season for WPI in 2025-26.

A four-year letterwinner and three-year starter, Downing played an integral role in the Engineers record breaking 2021-22 campaign.  He started all 30 games in the backcourt as a graduate, leading the Engineers to a 27-3 record, NEWMAC regular and tournament championships and a spot in the NCAA Division III quarterfinals.

One of the most popular players during the Chris Bartley era, the Middletown, CT native earned his undergraduate degree in management engineering and his graduate degree in 2022.
