Fitchburg, MA --- Ashley Dutcher (Littleton,
MA) netted a pair of second half goals to help Fitchburg State
rally to stay unbeaten with a 2-1 victory over visiting WPI
Saturday afternoon. The Falcons are now a 5-0 on the season while
WPI see its record even at 3-3.
Julia Berg (Cambridge, MA) had given the Engineers
a 1-0 advantage at the half with a goal in the 35th minute off a
feed Hillary Rotatari (Auburn, MA). Freshman
Elizabeth Glasson (Worcester, MA) was outstanding
in goal for the Crimson and Gray, notching a career-best 13 saves
on the afternoon.
Kyla Batchelder (Stoughton, MA) collected a pair
of saves for the Falcons while Jackie Wisocky
(Brocktom, MA) and Kristen Hayward (South Haldey,
MA) each tallied an assist on a Dutcher goal.
WPI will play its last of four straight matches versus MASCAC
opponents on Wednesday evening when they host Westfield State at
7pm. Fitchburg State will travel MIT for a 4pm match on Tuesday
afternoon.
