Anderson (Billerica, MA) and Dave
Cardenas (Framingham, MA), and junior Matt
Wainwright (North Attleboro, MA) each posted wins for WPI,
but the Engineers lost a 30-14 decision to Norwich on Saturday
afternoon. With the win the Cadets improve to 2-0 in dual meets
while the Crimson and Gray fall to 0-1 on the young
season.
In the 125 pound match, Anderson improved his record to 10-2 on
the year in a major decision victory. Anderson was ranked #1 in New
England in the latest NEWA poll.
Wainwright won his match-up with his first pin of the season at
the 149 pounds class while Cardenas won by major decision
at 165. Cardenas's record now stands at 5-2 while
Wainwright's ups his to 3-4.
WPI is back in action on Wednesday when they host
Springfield in its home opener at 7pm.
