McNulty Reaches Podium; Weber, Hauck Add Three Wins for WPI Wrestling at NEWA Futures

New London, CT --- Michael McNulty (Manasquan, NJ) reached the podium, while Jonah Weber (Avon, CT) and Logan Hauck (Amesbury, MA) each recorded three victories to highlight WPI's performance at the 2026 New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Futures Tournament hosted by Coast Guard on Sunday.
 
McNulty opened his day in dominant fashion, securing a pin just 69 seconds into his first match. After falling in the quarterfinals, the sophomore responded with back-to-back second-period pins at 4:42 and 4:56 to advance to the fifth-place bout at 174 pounds, where he dropped a 3-0 decision.
 
Weber, competing at 157 pounds, rebounded from an opening-round loss with three consecutive victories. He began the run with an 8-1 decision, followed with a third-period fall at 5:35, and capped the stretch with a 13-6 major decision.
 
Hauck followed a similar path at heavyweight. After an early setback, he posted a 15-0 technical fall at the 5:00 mark of the second period, added a first-period pin in 2:36, and earned a medical forfeit to close his day with three wins.

Three other Crimson and Gray grapplers recorded multiple victories Sunday. Jerry Hill (Bethel, CT) opened his day at 141 pounds with a second-period fall at 4:44 and later added another second-period pin at 3:31.  Logan Jacques (Hudson, NH) produced a similar effort at 165 pounds, earning two first-period pins at 2:30 and 1:18. At 184 pounds, Sean Keady (Natick, MA) rebounded from an early setback to register a 17-0 technical fall at 5:37 before adding a first-period pin in 1:54.
 
WPI had six additional wrestlers record victories, including four at 157 pounds. Jackson Willi (Delmar, NY) earned a 15-4 major decision, while Luke Coelho (Belmont, MA) added a 6-3 win, both in the championship bracket.
 
The remaining four victories came via bonus points in the consolation rounds. Reese Titus (Canton, CT) secured a third-period pin at 5:51 at 141 pounds. At 157, Sean Callanan (Wakefield, MA) posted a 20-4 technical fall at 5:23 and Kyle Rodrigues (Ludlow, MA) recorded a second-period fall at 3:27. At 165 pounds, Ryan Addeche (Foxboro, MA) delivered a third-period pin at 5:35.
 
Also competing for the Engineers were 141-pounder Sam Rodrigues (Lincoln, RI), 149-pounder David Parrish (McDonough, GA), 157-pounders Lucas Marchese (Branchburg, NJ), Bud West (Concord, MA) and Nick Laskowski (Kerhonkson, NY), 174-pounder Gavin Luciano (Norton, MA), 197-pounder Eamon DiVenuto (Ludlow, MA) and heavyweight Brendan Woytowich (Coxsackie, NY).
 
The Crimson and Gray will then be off for nearly two weeks before the NCAA Division III Region I Championships, also hosted by Coast Guard. The two-day event begins Saturday, February 28, and concludes Sunday, March 1. The top three finishers in each weight class at the regional championships will advance to the national tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in mid-March.
