Box Score WORCESTER – The WPI and Endicott men's soccer teams played to a 0-0 double overtime tie Tuesday night at Alumni Stadium.
The Engineers, who began the match No. 8 in the NSCAA Division III New England coaches poll, move to 6-1-2 as the Gulls, who is slotted ninth in the same poll, are now 5-2-1.
The match was just about even on the score sheet and on the field. WPI enjoyed slight advantages in shots (8-5) and corners (6-4) while shots on-goal were even (2-2).
Junior Brendan Nemes (Kingston, MA) and senior Matt Farrell (Groveland, MA) each had a shot on target as did EC junior Dario Neukom (Palma De Malorca, Spain) and sophomore Mark Mozzicato (Stoneham, MA).
WPI junior Connor Hoeckele (Granby, CT) and Endicott senior Nick Weinstein (Trumbull, CT) were on the receiving end of said attempts.
The best chance of the game came after a corner kick in the 110th minute. The ensuing scrum ended with the ball in Weinstein's hands inside the goal; however, it was ruled that he was knocked in by a WPI player.
The Engineers travel to Emerson Saturday for a 1pm NEWMAC tilt while the Gulls return to Worcester County Saturday for an 11am CCC contest at Nichols.
