Medford, MA --- Freshman Janette Wadolowski (Southington, CT) and sophomore Erin Poindexter-McHan (Los Altos Hills, CA) came off the bench to lead nationally-ranked Tufts in a 68-31 victory over visiting WPI in women's basketball non-conference action Tuesday night inside Cousens Gymnasium.

Tufts, the sixth ranked team in the D3hoops.com and WBCA national polls, collects its fifth consecutive win and ups its record to 17-1 while the Engineers move to 7-10 on the year.

Wadolowski notched a game-best 13 points followed by Poindexter-McHan with 11. In all, the Jumbos reserves accounted for 39 points. Senior Jac Knapp (Westfield, NJ) and freshman Molly Ryan (Westfield, NJ) paced the starters with eight points apiece. Junior Cailin Harrington (Westwood, MA) grabbed a team-best five rebounds while Ryan totaled six steals as she and sophomore Emily Briggs (Canton, CT) each handed out four assists.

Junior Spencer Vinson (Los Angeles, CA) led the Engineers with eight points to go with five rebounds, three blocks, two assists and a steal. Senior Alyssa Paul (Schaghticoke, NY) and freshman Bailey Savage (Charlton, MA) combined for 11 more points while freshmen McKenna Finken (Simsbury, CT) and Alex Scariati (Scotch Plains, NJ) each netted four. Sophomore Sara Lyons (Pittsford, NY) and freshman Melanie Presseau (Manchester, NH) chipped in with two apiece. Lyons and Scariati, meanwhile, shared game-high honors with six rebounds.

After Knapp and Paul traded 3-pointers, Briggs sparked a 13-0 run, and gave the Jumbos the lead for good, with 8:31 to go in the first. WPI was held to five in the first, four in the second and eight in the third. Vinson and Scariati each scored four to highlight a 14-point fourth quarter. In all, the Engineers 31 points is the second lowest total by a Tufts opponent in 2018-19. On the other hand, the Jumbos were close to scoring their lowest amount (60) with just over three minutes to play.

WPI jumps back into NEWMAC action Saturday when it hosts MIT at 2pm on Alumnae Day. Tufts heads to Connecticut College for a 7pm tip on Friday night.
