WORCESTER -- The WPI women's rowing team concluded its fall campaign Saturday with multiple gold medals in the third-ever Wormtown Chase Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond.
The Crimson and Gray collected the gold medal in the Collegiate Eight and recorded a 19:17.119 time finishing nearly 43 seconds ahead of Clark who crossed the buoys at 20:04.782 for second. The Engineers B boat (20:28.542) and C boat (23:00.937) earned fourth and 10th place respectively out of the 14-boat spread in the collegiate eight just behind Coast Guard who claimed third (20:18.497).
WPI's Caitlin Kean (Shrewsbury, MA) brought home another goal medal finish in the singles besting the other four competitors from Lowell with a 26:10.8 time.
Recent alumni and member of the 2022 NCAA Division III College Eight National Championship boat Emily Adams (East Greenwich, RI) appeared in the women's masters single race finished in 25:25.041.
The Collegiate Four posted a sixth-place mark after logging a 26:39.372 time as the Novice Four finished second (27:34.247) behind Maritime who bested the four-boat field at 28:51.679.
In the doubles, Ilyssa Delizo (New City, NY) and Madison Gass (Barrington, NH) outpaced Franklin Pierce's boat by 20 seconds (25:11.786) for the runner-up finish as Clark claimed the top spot with a 23:22.231 time.
The Engineers will return to the water in early April for the spring portion of their season.
