Herbstzuber, DiMascolo, Dino, 400 Free Relay Claim Victories for Women’s Swim/Dive at Colby

Waterville, ME --- Four first place finishes, and 14 top-3 performances were not enough as the WPI women's swimming and diving teams fell to Colby on Saturday afternoon in the final dual meet of the 2023-24 season.
 
The Engineers (4-7) finished with 98 points to Colby's (4-2) 194. 
 
The 200 Medley Relay team of Leah Kolb (Canton, MI), Elinor Ross (Brandon, VT), Kaitlyn Grove (Cheshire, CT), and Katrina Waite (Falmouth, ME) started things off with a third place performance in 1:53.11 and the 200 Free Relay squad of Waite, Lada DiMascolo (Puyallup, WA), Katrina Yurista (Laramie, WY) and Audrey Dino (St. Louis, MO) added a first place finish to close out the meet, touching the wall in 1:44.71. 
 
Kylie Herbstzuber (Medfield, MA) picked up the team's first, first place finish of the day with the best time in the 1000 Free to start the individual racing with a time of 10:53.64 followed by another first place performance from DiMascolo in the 200 Free with a time of 1:57.95. 
 
Ross added a third place performance in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:10.63 while Herbstzuber added a third place finish in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:27.21 and Kolb added a third place finish in the 50 Free with a time of 25.45. 
 
DiMascolo picked up a runner-up finish in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:33.56 with Ross coming in third in 2:33.88. In the 100 Fly, Grove and Rachel Tsang (Acton, MA) went 2-3 with times of 1:01.56 and 1:02.53 respectively. 
 
The individual races wrapped up with a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 IM as Dino took first, Ross came in second and Anna Callaghan (Yorktown Heights, NY) brought home third with times of 2:21.96, 2:23.32, 2:30.03. 
 
On the diving side of things, Yurista finished with fourth place finishes in the 1 and 3-Meter Dives with scores of 227.10 and 211.57 respectively. 
 
The swimming and diving teams are back in action with their final tune up before the NEWMAC Championships when they head to the Menck Invitational, a two day Invite from Friday, Jan. 26 to Saturday, Jan. 27 at Roger Williams on Friday and WPI on Saturday.
