Wellesley, MA --- The WPI women's cross country team opened the season with four student-athletes racing at the Wellesley Invitational 5K on Friday.
Graduate student
Rachel Hurley (Peterborough, NH) led the way for the Engineers, finishing the 5k in a time of 19:39.6 to place 24th out of 100 student-athletes. Freshman
Catherine Daly (Groton, MA) was next across the line for WPI, taking 28th place in a time of 19:58.5.
Wrapping up the Engineers' finishers, senior
Elie Bowman (Oakdale, CT) clocked in at 20:30.2 to place 42nd and sophomore
Grace Connell (Far Hills, NJ) was 59th in a time of 21:20.6.
WPI next races on Saturday, September 21 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. The race will begin at 10:30am.
