WORCESTER --- The WPI Field Hockey team earned one of the 10 at-large bids to the 2025 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championships announced late Sunday night.   Head coach Kim Cozenza's squad will be making the Engineers fifth all-time appearance in the championship field, and their first since 1993.

The Crimson and Gray, ranked No. 24 in the most recent National Field Hockey Coaches Association Top 25, will travel to No. 16 Stevenson in Owings Mills, Maryland for a 4pm first round contest on Wednesday, November 12th.  Ticket prices will be announced Monday and will be added to this story.

WPI enters the NCAA Tournament with a 14-5 overall record, placing second in the NEWMAC during the regular season with an 8-1 conference record and fell to No. 3 Babson 1-0 in the conference tournament final on Saturday afternoon.  The Mustangs, who are making their first ever NCAA Tournament, currently sport a 19-2 record and captured the MAC Commonwealth title on Saturday, defeating Messiah (PA) 1-0.

Wednesday's winner will remain in the Baltimore area for the Saturday and Sunday's second and third rounds hosted by No. 2 Johns Hopkins.  The WPI/Stevenson victor will face the host Blue Jays Saturday at 11am in the second round.  Other teams looking to advance to Baltimore with wins on Wednesday including seven-time national champion Middlebury hosting Westfield State and Endicott entertaining Keene State.

It will be the fifth NCAA Tournament appearance for WPI as the Engineers appeared in the 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1993 championships.  The Engineers defeated Southern Maine 4-0 in their debut appearance in 1989 and all four of their losses have been by a single goal.
