WORCESTER --- WPI Volleyball's Victoria Escuer (Caracas, Venezuela), Zeala VanDamme (San Diego, CA), Fiona Gillis (Manchester, NH) and Anastasia Kelnik (Fair Lawn, NJ) were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Volleyball team as announced this week. 

The 2025–26 Academic All-District Women's Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Escuer, now a two-time Academic All-District honoree, anchored the WPI backcourt throughout the fall, totaling 259 digs while averaging 3.55 digs per set across 73 sets played. The senior captain also added 21 service aces and recorded 50 assists during the season. Off the court, the Caracas, Venezuela native carries a 3.95 cumulative grade-point average as an industrial engineering major and is a three-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference team member.

VanDamme appeared in all 27 matches and 97 sets, compiling 146 kills while hitting .257, second-best among WPI's primary attackers. The junior middle blocker served as the team leader at the net with 84 total blocks, including 18 solo stops, while maintaining a 3.73 cumulative GPA in biomedical engineering and is a back-to-back NEWMAC Academic All-Conference selection.

Gillis recorded 122 kills and 16 total blocks across 74 sets, providing a steady presence in the Engineers' rotation. The senior outside hitter posted a 3.84 cumulative GPA as a biomedical engineering major while closing out her collegiate career as a three-time conference academic team honoree.

Kelnik, emerged as one of WPI's top offensive options in her second campaign, leading the team with 202 kills while playing in 97 sets. The sophomore outside hitter added 50 total blocks and finished second on the team in points with 230. In the classroom, Kelnik owns a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA as a computer science major and earned her first career NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honor in 2025.

WPI concluded the 2025 season with an 11–16 overall record, including three conference victories.
