Boston, MA --- The WPI men's track and field team kicked off a busy weekend of events by hitting seven personal best times at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday.
In the 200m race, freshman
Ethan Schnyer (Nashua, NH) and junior
Alex Cole (Weymouth, MA) both clocked personal records, as Schnyer went 22.27 and Cole finished in 22.65.
Sophomores
Gabriel D'Amour (Somers, CT) and
Daniel Kim (Orange, CT) and junior
Everett Mosher (Chester, VT) added three more PRs to the list. In the 400m, D'Amour ran a 50.40 and Kim clocked in at 50.56, while in the 800m, Mosher went 1:53.84 and senior
Brendan May (Rutland, MA) added a time of 1:56.70.
A pair of freshmen hit their collegiate bests in the 1000m, as
Colin Britner (Hampton, CT) ran a 2:34.66 and
Alden Betterley (Bow, NH) finished in 2:34.95.
Graduate-student
Avinash Bissoondial (Millbury, MA) was just off his school-record time in the mile run, finishing today in 4:11.80.
Wrapping up the action in the 4x400m relay, Kim, sophomore
Koray Boybeyi (Reston, VA), junior
Anthony Minichiello (Burlington, MA), and graduate-student
Tristan Andrew (Newtown, CT) clocked a season-best time, going 3:24.60.
WPI's weekend action continues tomorrow with the field athletes and select sprinters competing at MIT's Gordon Kelly Invitational.
