Mosher Garners Second All-American Honor to Begin NCAA Men’s Track and Field Championships

Everett Mosher
La Crosse, WA --- Everett Mosher (Chester, VT) earned his second All-America citation of the year Thursday as the senior opened competition for WPI at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex hosted by University of Wisconsin–La Crosse.

Mosher clocked a time of 3:49.23 to place ninth in heat two, which proved to be the faster of the two 11-person preliminary heats in the 1,500 meters. The top four finishers from each heat, along with the next four fastest times overall, advanced to Saturday's final. Mosher missed qualifying by one spot and just 0.39 seconds, as the final qualifying time was 3:48.84. His 13th-place overall finish earned second team All-America honors, which are bestowed by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association to competitors placing ninth through 16th nationally.

His journey to Wisconsin for the outdoor nationals highlighted a late season surge for the senior, who rocketed up the performance list from the mid-40s on the final day of qualifying to a top 16 seed after his school-record time at the MIT Final Qualifier last Thursday.

Mosher, who is slated to compete in cross country as a graduate student this upcoming fall, graduated last weekend with a perfect 4.00 GPA and figures to be in contention for the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award, which is presented to the student-athlete competing at a championship finals site with the highest cumulative grade-point average.

Alex Cole (Weymouth, MA) will take center stage Friday as the senior competes in the preliminaries of the 100 meters. Cole is slated to run in lane three of heat two with a seed time of 10.41, and the event is scheduled to begin at 6:35pm eastern. He will attempt to advance to Saturday's championship final, while teammate Gavin Fleck (Bend, OR) is set to compete in the pole vault at 1pm eastern as the three-day meet concludes.
