WORCESTER -- The WPI men's swimming and diving team moved up one spot in the standings after day two of the 2025 NEWMAC Swimming and Diving Championships at the WPI Sports & Recreation Center.

The Engineers have 235.5 total points and are less than 20 points out of third place. MIT leads the event with 498 points, followed by Coast Guard (382), Springfield (271.5), and Babson (257). Wheaton (232) and Clark (130) round out the field.

The action began with the men's 200 Free Relay, where the 'A' team of sophomore
Dean Doubek (Arnold, MD), sophomore
Nolan Schlessman (Sudbury, MA), graduate-student
Jack Brazer (Peterborough, NH), and sophomore
Sean Tesoro (Reading, MA) placed fifth in the A final with a time of 1:23.04. The 'B' team of freshman
Angad Ahluwalia (Attleboro, MA), sophomore
Andrew Van De Water (Stratham, NH), freshman
Angelo Reade (Newburgh, NY), and junior
Christopher Smith (Northbridge, MA) followed with a ninth-place finish in the B final at 1:24.33.

In the men's 500 Free, senior
Aidan Greenfield (Northport, NY) led the Engineers with a 12th-place finish in 4:42.36, while senior
Fraser Milligan (Middlebury, VT) touched just behind him in 13th with a time of 4:44.23. Junior
Nikita Zuev (Wallingford, CT) rounded out WPI's representation in the B final, finishing 18th in 4:49.32.

Smith highlighted the men's 200 IM with a seventh-place finish in the A final, clocking in at 1:53.79. In the B final, freshman
Tyson Elliott (Portland, OR) placed 14th with a time of 1:55.51, freshman
Keegan Rowe (Harpswell, ME) finished 17th in 1:57.21, and junior
Jake Thomas (Wenham, MA) secured 19th with a 1:57.57 performance.

The men's 50 Free saw Doubek take ninth place in the A final with a time of 21.08. In the B final, Schlessman finished 18th at 21.63, while Reade took 20th in 21.95.

Closing out the evening, the men's 400 Medley Relay saw the Engineers' 'A' team of Smith, Schlessman, Doubek, and Brazer record a sixth-place finish in the A final with a time of 3:25.95. The 'B' team, consisting of freshman
Angad Ahluwalia (Attleboro, MA), senior
Eli Budde (Sykesville, MD), sophomore
Lucas Pralle (Wayland, MA), and Greenfield, secured 10th place in the B final with a 3:30.58 finish.
Competition resumes Saturday with a full slate of events, including the 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back, Men's 1-Meter Diving, and the 200 Medley Relay.
