Cambridge, MA --- The WPI men's track and field team nabbed seven victories and a host of podium performances, competing at the 2025 Triangle Classic on Saturday at Springfield College.
Earning individual wins for the Engineers were junior
Dylan Serreyn (Windom, MN), senior
Sean Corman (Waterford, CT), sophomore
Sam Manteria (Wilbraham, MA), freshman
Alden Betterley (Bow, NH), and senior
Avi Bissoondial (Millbury, MA).
Serreyn claimed victory in the men's triple jump with a leap of 13.49 meters, while Corman won the 5000m run in 15:57.87. Manteria took the 60m dash with a personal-best time of 7.02 seconds, and Betterley secured the top spot in the 1000m run with a time of 2:35.63, qualifying him for postseason competition. Bissoondial finished first in the 1-mile run, completing the race in 4:17.09.
Elsewhere, senior
Matthew Catuccio (Trumbull, CT) cleared 1.95 meters to take second place in the high jump, while junior
Dylan Serreyn (Windom, MN) finished fifth with a jump of 1.90 meters. In the shot put, sophomore
Ethan Anderson (North Haven, CT) recorded a throw of 14.51 meters to earn second place, while freshman
John Cummings (Dallas, PA) finished seventh at 13.78 meters, securing postseason qualifying. Anderson also placed third in the weight throw with a mark of 16.26 meters.
In the 200m dash, junior
Alex Cole (Weymouth, MA) finished third with a time of 23.16 seconds, followed by sophomore
Koray Boybeyi (Reston, VA) in fourth at 23.31 seconds. Freshman
Justin Serrecchia (Lakeville, MA) finished eighth with a time of 23.42 seconds. Freshman
Colin Britner (Hampton, CT) took third in the 800m run with a time of 2:03.52, while classmate
Daniel Narvaez (Wayland, MA) placed seventh in 2:06.93.

Ethan Ramirez (Burlington, CT) placed sixth in his first ever heptathlon with a score of 3,545 points, which included a win in the 60m hurdles.
In the pole vault, senior
Christopher Nguyen (Tewksbury, MA) placed sixth with a clearance of 4.00 meters, while sophomore
Ajay Bellamy (Stratford, CT) earned eighth place at 3.55 meters. Bellamy also nabbed a PR and a postseason qualifying standard in the 60m dash in 7.17.
In the 400m dash, sophomore
Gabe D'Amour (Somers, CT) placed fourth with a time of 52.22 seconds, followed by freshman
Theo Burrell (East Haddam, CT) in eighth at 52.95 seconds. Freshman
Will Kelley (Medford, MA) finished tenth with a time of 53.18 seconds.

Zach Parodos (Acton, MA) finished ninth in the long jump with a leap of 5.94 meters. In the 3000m run, senior

Drew O'Reilly (Syracuse, NY) finished ninth and tenth, respectively, with times of 9:05.72 and 9:08.60.
The Engineers' relay teams also impressed, with the 4x800m relay team taking the win in 8:00.69 and the distance medley relay squad earning a first-place finish in 11:03.85. The 4x400m relay team was second overall in 3:37.27.
Qualified student-athletes will compete next weekend at the New England Division III Championships. The two-day event begins on Friday, February 28 at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
