WORCESTER -- The WPI women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2025 NEWMAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Sunday at the WPI Sports & Recreation Center.

The Engineers finished with 454 team points, good for fifth place. MIT won the event with 1,678 points, with Coast Guard as with runner-up, collecting 750 points. Wheaton took third (677) points, followed by Springfield (636) and WPI. Wellesley (435), Babson (416), Smith (342), Mount Holyoke (183.5) and Clark (180.5) rounded out the 10-team field.

Freshman
Sarah Kang (Richmond, VA) led the way for WPI's swimmers, placing seventh in the 200 Back with a time of 2:06.64. Junior
Katrina Yurista (Laramie, WY) added a strong showing on the boards, finishing seventh in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 428.40.

Lada DiMascolo (Puyallup, WA), freshman
Veronica Finucane-Tuccio (Excelsior, MN), and Kang placed fourth with a time of 3:34.61. The 'B' team of senior

Katrina Waite (Falmouth, ME), senior
Anna Callaghan (Townsend, MA), and freshman
Milena Whitney (Bedford, NH) finished 15th at 3:44.11.

Allie Marvell (Nashua, NH) placed 12th in the 1650 Free (18:46.13), while classmate
Kate Creusere (Las Cruces, NM) followed in 17th (18:55.83). WPI also had two finalists in the 100 Free, with DiMascolo taking 14th (53.44) and MacLeod finishing 15th (54.04).

The Engineers placed four swimmers in the 200 Breast finals. Whitney led the group in 12th place (2:32.16), followed by junior
Kylie Herbstzuber (Medfield, MA) in 13th (2:33.54), freshman
Niamh O'Sullivan (Basking Ridge, NJ) in 17th (2:36.65), and freshman
Alia Ureta (Hackensack, NJ) in 19th (2:40.89).

Kaitlyn Grove (Cheshire, CT) placed 12th in the 200 Fly (2:12.74), while Finucane-Tuccio finished 19th (2:19.06). Dino contributed points in the 200 Back, placing 14th (2:10.78), with senior
Leah Kolb (Canton, MI) taking 20th (2:14.03).

Qualified divers will compete at next weekend's NCAA Diving Regional hosted by Springfield on February 28 and March 1. NCAA swimming selections will be announced early next week.
