Amherst, MA and Cambridge, MA --- The WPI track and field teams wrapped up the regular season on Thursday with strong showings at a pair of Last Chance Qualifiers, highlighted by a school record in the 4x100m relay. Engineers were in action at both UMass Amherst and MIT, making their final cases for NCAA Championship selection.

At the UMass Last Chance Qualifier, the men's 4x100m relay team of
Sam Manteria (Wilbraham, MA),
Ethan Schnyer (Nashua, NH),
Alex Cole (Weymouth, MA), and
Tristan Andrew (Newtown, CT) delivered a statement performance, taking second place in 40.66 seconds. The time shattered their own school record and should earn them a spot at next week's NCAA Division III Championships.

Manteria led the way in the sprints with a third-place finish in the 100m (10.81), while Cole took sixth (11.02). Andrew finished sixth in the 200m (21.66), with Schnyer close behind in tenth (22.03).
In the middle distances,
Everett Mosher (Chester, VT) ran a personal best 1:52.75 in the 800m to take third.
Ryan Fischer (Merrimack, NH) wrapped up his collegiate career in impressive fashion, finishing third in the 3000m steeplechase in 9:22.76, his second-fastest career mark.

Over in Cambridge at the MIT Last Chance Qualifier,
Brett Gerlach (Lock Haven, PA) posted top-five finishes in both the triple jump and high jump. He leapt 13.74m for third in the triple and cleared 1.96m to place fifth in the high jump.
Michael Zuo (Worcester, MA) placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 13.25m.

WPI had a strong showing in the javelin, with
Matt Richards (Peabody, MA) leading the group in third at 56.97m.
Michael Neff (West Hartford, CT) was close behind in fourth (56.84m), followed by
Ben Furman (Groton, MA) in eighth (56.26m) and
Lucas Anthony (Lincoln, MA) in 11th (53.33m).

In her final collegiate appearance,
Olivia Spielberger (Hingham, MA) capped her career with a fourth-place finish in the triple jump. Her mark of 11.45m was the second-best of her career.

Avinash Bissoondial (Millbury, MA) and the 4x100m relay team will likely see their names announced tomorrow on NCAA.com when the official selections are released. The 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships are set for May 22 to 24 in Geneva, Ohio.
