Cambridge, MA --- The WPI women's swimming and diving team wrapped up day two at the 2026 NEWMAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday night at MIT's Zesiger Center Pool.
WPI has 176 total points and sits in seventh place overall. MIT leads the championship with 615 points, followed by Coast Guard with 305 and Wellesley with 246. Babson is fourth with 232 and Wheaton fifth with 200, while Smith (197), Springfield (157), Clark (105), and Mount Holyoke (94) round out the team scores.
WPI opened the evening with a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The "A" quartet of junior
Katrina Waite (Falmouth, ME), sophomore
Sophie Robinson (Westboro, MA), freshman
Audrey Cook (Wakefield, MA), and freshman
Mallory LaPointe (Saint Johns, FL) clocked a 1:41.04 in the championship final. Waite led off in 25.80, Robinson followed in 24.79, Cook posted a 25.45, and LaPointe anchored in 25.00.

Madison Harris (Upper Marlboro, MD), sophomore
Milena Whitney (Bedford, NH), senior
Kaitlyn Grove (Cheshire, CT), and senior
Rachel Tsang (Acton, MA) placed 15th in 1:42.29. Grove recorded the fastest split of the group in 25.18.
In the 500-yard freestyle, sophomore
Allie Marvell (Nashua, NH) placed ninth overall in 5:14.19 after qualifying for the Championship final with a morning swim of 5:13.60. Sophomore
Kate Creusere (Las Cruces, NM) finished 14th in 5:19.10, and sophomore
Veronica Finucane-Tuccio (Excelsior, MN) placed 18th in 5:22.52 in the B final.
LaPointe returned to the pool in the 200-yard IM, placing 15th in 2:12.85 after earning a "B" final berth with a 2:12.52 prelim swim.
To wrap the session, the 400-yard medley relay team placed fifth overall in the championship final. Sophomore
