WORCESTER — WPI men's basketball's Nathan Bledsoe (San Antonio, TX), J.R. Newman (Havertown, PA), Nicholas Margetson (Baldwin, NY), and Justin Molen (Newark, DE) were named to the 2025-2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for NCAA Division III, as announced recently.
The quartet excelled both on the hardwood and in the classroom for a Crimson and Gray squad that posted a 21-6 overall record, went 14-2 in NEWMAC play, en route to its fifth-straight NEWMAC regular season title.
Bledsoe, a junior shooting guard majoring in financial technology with a 3.79 GPA, turned in a breakout season. The San Antonio native averaged 14.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while knocking down a team-high 73 three-pointers and shooting 38.2% from beyond the arc. Bledsoe appeared in all 27 games with 17 starts and was a key perimeter threat for the Engineers.
Newman, a senior data science major with a 3.62 GPA, earned Academic All-District honors for the second straight season following another strong two-way stint for the Crimson and Gray. Starting all 27 games, Newman averaged 10.4 points and added 32 steals while serving as one of WPI's top defensive options. The Havertown native consistently drew the assignment of guarding the opponent's top scorer, helping anchor a defensive unit that ranked among the conference's best.
Margetson, who carries a 3.62 GPA in analytics, directed the WPI offense from the point guard position. Starting all 27 contests, Margetson averaged 4.7 points and 2.8 assists per game while totaling 75 assists on the season. His leadership and decision-making were instrumental in guiding the Engineers to another 20-win campaign.
Molen headlines the group after a standout junior campaign that saw him earn NEWMAC Player of the Year honors along with NABC and D3hoops.com All-Region First Team recognition. The chemical engineering major owns a 3.83 GPA and averaged a team-best 14.8 points to go along with 7.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game while starting 24 contests en route his second consecutive All-District honor from CSC. Molen finished as the only player in the conference ranked in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding, and assists, solidifying his status as one of the league's most complete players.
The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with national selections scheduled to be announced on April 14, 2026.
