NABC Team Academic Award & Honors Court Honorees
Kansas City, MO — The WPI men's basketball program has once again been recognized for its outstanding academic achievement by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), earning the 2025-26 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award. In addition, eight Crimson and Gray student-athletes were selected to the prestigious NABC Honors Court, highlighting the program's continued commitment to excellence in the classroom and on the court.

Named to the NABC Honors Court were graduate students Nicholas Margetson (Baldwin, NY) and Tim Reidy(Needham, MA); seniors Adam Patterson (New York, NY), J.R. Newman (Havertown, PA) and Matt Morvillo(Bedford, MA); and juniors Justin Molen (Newark, DE), Nathan Bledsoe (San Antonio, TX) and Joe Pebley (Fort Worth, TX).

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court recognizes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The NABC's academic awards span all levels of college basketball, with more than 400 programs receiving Team Academic Excellence Awards and over 2,300 student-athletes earning Honors Court recognition in 2025-26.

"College basketball student-athletes do incredible things on the court, but their achievements in the classroom are equally worthy of celebration," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "Education is one of the NABC's core values, and the hundreds of programs and thousands of athletes represented on these awards reinforce the commitment to academic success that exists across all levels of our sport."

WPI's academic accomplishments accompanied another successful season on the court. The Engineers finished the 2025-26 campaign with a 21-6 overall record and a 14-2 mark in conference play, captured their fifth consecutive NEWMAC regular-season championship and earned an at-large berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Engineers' 21 victories marked the program's 19th 20-win season in the past 22 years, continuing WPI's longstanding tradition of academic and athletic excellence.
