Marlboro, MA --- WPI men's basketball junior Justin Molen (Newark, DE) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Athlete of the Year. Tim Reidy (Needham, MA) and Nathan Bledsoe (San Antonio, TX) joined Molen on the All-NEWMAC team as voted on by conference coaches at the conclusion of the regular season.
Molen's strong junior regular season stint led to the NEWMAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Year honor as he earned his first career All-NEWMAC nod and first career major award. The forward increased his production steadily from year-to-year as he averaged just 7.4 points per game in 2024-2025 before erupting to a team-leading 15.3 points per outing which ranks in the top-10 among NEWMAC athletes. Molen led the Crimson and Gray with 172 total rebounds marking in the top five among the league averaging 6.9 boards a game and showed off on the defensive end as he shared the team-high in steals with 2024-2025 NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Year, J.R. Newman (Havertown, PA) with 31 steals.
Reidy continued to establish himself as one of the premier perimeter threats in the conference, earning All-NEWMAC First Team honors for the second straight year after averaging 12.9 points per game, ranking third on the team in scoring. The graduate student sharpshooter knocked down 65 three-pointers, tied for second-most on the team and within the top-5 of the NEWMAC, while shooting an efficient 38.9% from beyond the arc. Reidy also converted at an elite rate at the line, shooting 88.7% on free throws, and contributed defensively with 20 steals, ranking fourth on the team.
Bledsoe delivered one of the most complete seasons on the roster, earning All-NEWMAC Second Team recognition after averaging 14.8 points per game, ranking second on the team in scoring. He also ranked second on the team in rebounding, pulling down 5.2 rebounds per game, just outside of the top-10 in the conference as a primarily perimeter presence. From long range, Bledsoe connected on a team-high 70 three-pointers, shooting 38.9% from three-point land. Defensively, he totaled 22 steals, ranking third on the team.
WPI (21-5), the 2025-26 NEWMAC Men's Basketball Regular Season Champion and ranked No. 30 in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball NPI, earned an at-large bid after being upset by Wheaton in Friday's NEWMAC semifinal. The Engineers will square off with Amherst on Friday at 5pm in the first round of the NCAA Tournament hosted by Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The winner of Friday's tilt will face the winner of the other contest featuring Worcester State and hosts Mary Washington on Saturday at 7pm.
