WORCESTER — The WPI men's and women's track & field programs combined to earn 24 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region selections following standout performances throughout the 2026 outdoor campaign.
The honors were announced Tuesday by the USTFCCCA, with All-Region distinction awarded to the top-eight individuals in each event from their respective region based on the year-end Athletic.net descending order lists, along with members of the top-eight relay teams in each region.
The Engineers secured All-Region recognition across 18 individual events and two relays competing in the East Region.
Leading the way for the men's squad was senior Alex Cole (Weymouth, MA), who garnered three All-Region accolades. Cole earned recognition in both the 100 meters and 200 meters while also helping the 4x100-meter relay to regional honors alongside Justin Serrecchia (Lakeville, MA), Brett Gerlach (Lock Haven, PA) and Sam Manteria (Wilbraham, MA). Cole repeated as NEWMAC champion in the 100 meters to earn First Team All-Conference honors and was later named the NEWMAC Track Athlete of the Meet after contributing 20 points at the conference championship. He also secured Second Team All-Conference recognition in both the 200 meters and 4x100-meter relay after helping WPI to a runner-up finish in the relay event. At the New England Division III Championships, Cole added an All-New England performance with a third-place finish in the 100 meters (10.77) while also helping the 4x100-meter relay to a runner-up finish.
Manteria also collected three All-Region honors after a breakout sprint campaign, earning recognition in the 100 meters, 200 meters and as part of the 4x100 relay. The junior sprinter earned Second Team All-Conference honors in both the 100 meters and 4x100-meter relay as the quartet consistently ranked among the top sprint relays in Division III throughout the spring and captured multiple victories during the championship portion of the season. At the New England Division III Championships, Manteria swept the sprint titles by winning both the 100 meters and 200 meters while anchoring the 4x100-meter relay to an All-New England runner-up finish en route to earning the status of NED3 Elmer Swanson Track Athlete of the Meet. Serrecchia added Second Team All-Conference recognition as part of the relay squad and later placed seventh in the 100 meters at the regional championship meet.
Sophomore Will Larsen (Chelmsford, MA) added All-Region recognition in the 400-meter hurdles following a season that saw him establish a new program record in the event. Larsen also garnered Second Team All-Conference accolades in the event at the NEWMAC Championships before clocking a school-record 54.11 to place fifth and earn All-New England honors at the New England Division III meet. Freshman Aloiye Okhipo (Milford, MA) earned regional praise in the 110-meter hurdles in his debut collegiate campaign and later secured a runner-up finish at the New England Division III Championships to claim All-New England honors.
The Engineers also saw strong distance performances as senior Everett Mosher (Chester, VT) earned All-Region honors in the 1,500 meters. Mosher added Second Team All-Conference recognition in the 5,000 meters at the NEWMAC Championships before producing a runner-up finish in the 1,500 meters at the New England Division III Championships, missing the title by just 0.01 seconds. Brinson Wyche (Corvallis, MT) and Matthew Meerdink (Ballston Spa, NY) were both recognized in the steeplechase following strong spring campaigns. At the regional championship meet, Meerdink captured the 3000-meter steeplechase title while Wyche added an All-New England performance as part of the second-place 4x800-meter relay squad.
In the field events, junior Ethan Anderson (North Haven, CT) collected a pair of All-Region accolades in both the shot put and discus. Anderson was named First Team All-Conference in the discus while also earning Second Team All-Conference honors in both the shot put and hammer throw. At the New England Division III Championships, Anderson earned All-New England honors with a fifth-place finish in the shot put. Senior Gavin Fleck (Bend, OR) was honored in the pole vault after also securing Second Team All-Conference accolades at the league championship meet. Junior Matt Richards (Peabody, MA) earned recognition in the javelin while sophomore Ethan Ramirez (Burlington, CT) rounded out the men's honorees with All-Region distinction in the decathlon after capturing First Team All-Conference honors at NEWMACs. Gerlach additionally collected Second Team All-Conference honors in the high jump while also contributing to the All-New England 4x100-meter relay performance.
On the women's side, Bethany Brown (Allentown, PA) collected a pair of All-Region honors after qualifying individually in the 400-meter hurdles while also serving as part of WPI's 4x400-meter relay alongside Julia Fronc (Plaistow, NH), Sabrina Cady (Lowell, MA) and Bailey Allmon (Woodbine, MD). Brown later posted a personal-best 1:03.76 to place third in the 400-meter hurdles at the New England Division III Championships while the quartet added All-New England honors with a fifth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
Allmon was also recognized by the conference with the NEWMAC Laurels of Academic Excellence award after compiling a perfect 4.00 GPA as a biomedical engineering major.
Freshman Addie Pong (Bolton, MA) earned All-Region recognition in the shot put to cap an impressive first collegiate outdoor season. Pong also collected First Team All-Conference accolades in the event at the NEWMAC Championships before adding All-New England honors with an eighth-place finish at the regional championship meet.
The trio of Cole, Mosher and Fleck will represent the men's track and field program at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Wisconsin-La Crosse at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex on May 21-23.
