Worcester, MA --- WPI notched a .467 hitting percentage en route
to defeating Anna Maria 3-0 in non conference volleyball action on
Friday evening. The Engineers (10-13) took the match by scores of
30-11, 30-14, 30-13
Twelve of the 14 WPI players registered kills, highlighted by
seven from Nikki Croteau (Wilbraham, MA).
Christina Grant (Mansfield, MA) added five kills
as the Engineers totaled 35 kills while making just seven errors in
60 attempts.
Jennifer Parker (Rochester, MA) paced the
Crimson and Gray with 22 assists. Sabrina Varanelli (Sacramento,
CA) led all players with eight digs while Chelsea
Casavant (Hooksett, NH), Amanda Kent
(Stoneham, MA) and Becca Holmberg (Madison, CT)
both chipped in with six.
The ten victories this season equals WPI's win output from a
season ago with four matches remaining in the regular season.
Brittany Langdeau (Wolcott, CT) collected six
digs for Anna Maria (0-16), while Jezebel Gil
(Brooklyn, NY) and Rosa Quintana-Delgado
(Worcester, MA) each registered a ace.
WPI returns to the court on Tuesday at 7pm with a home
conference match versus NEWMAC power Coast Guard. The AMCATS also
play next on Tuesday when they travel to Quincy to face Eastern
Nazarene.
