Worcester, MA --- Mike White (Canton, MA), Tony D'Amico, Jim Quinlan (Methuen, MA) and Tim Ferreira (Danbury, CT) all registered a pair of wins as Bridgewater State dominated the upper weight classes in victories over American International (22-18) and host WPI (23-10) on Saturday.  AIC took the other match with a 33-15 victory over WPI.

Trailing 14-0 after three bouts of the opening contest versus AIC, the Bears (12-5) won six of the final seven matches.  The run was started by a second period pin from Ethan Raymond (Middlebury, VT) at 149.  On the day, BSC proved to be its strongest at the end as Quinlan picked up a major decision and tech fall at 197 and Ferreira won both of his bouts at 285, including the match-decider versus AIC, in hard-fought and entertaining matches.

The host Engineers (5-16) got a pair of wins from Matt Wainwright (North Attleboro, MA) at 149 pounds and regionally ranked Tyler Howe (Danbury, CT) at 157.  Wainwright and Chris Spinelli (Lynnfield, ME - 197 pounds) notched pins versus AIC while Scott Guzman (Acton, ME) took home a win against BSC at 184.

AIC (5-7) got great performances from its lightweights.  Jeff Haddad (Old Saybrook, CT) tallied a pin and win by decision at 133 while Carlos Lara (Avon, CT) and Sam Gauvine (Enfield, CT) each earned a pair of victories at 125 and 141 respectively.   Yaakov Bloch (Ashkelon, Israel) also collected a pair of wins for the Yellow Jackets at 184, including a major decision in the opening match versus Bridgewater State.

WPI and AIC are both back in action on Wednesday at 6pm.  The Engineers head to Bristol, RI for a tri-match versus host Roger Williams and Bryant while the Yellow Jackets venture to Sacred Heart.  Bridgewater State returns to the mat on Friday night with a tri-match at Rhode Island College with Trinity.
