Worcester, MA --- Nikki Croteau (Wilbraham, MA)
dished out a game-best 24 assists to help WPI defeat visiting
Becker 3-0 in non-conference volleyball action on Thursday
evening. The Crimson and Gray took the match by game scores
of 25-9, 25-19, 25-12.
WPI, winners of two straight, improve to 5-8 while Becker slips
to 3-7 on the season.
Becca Holmberg (Madison, CT) paced the
offensive attack with seven kills while Christina
Grant (Mansfield, MA), Kathryn
Bomba (Chelmsford, MA) and Sarah Artz
(Spring Grove, IL) all added four kills. Bomba registered a
team-best nine digs while Val Boutin (Salem, NH)
and Alison Su (Westerly, RI) collected six digs
and tallied three service aces.
Rachel Pinak (Cheektowaga, NY) led the Becker
effort with six kills, four digs and a solo block.
Kelsea Laubenstein (Randolph, MA) chipped in with
14 assists, 4 digs and three kills.
WPI is off until Tuesday when they host NEWMAC rival Wellesley
at 7pm. Becker is back in action on Saturday when they head
to Chicopee, MA for a 10am NECC match against Elms.
