Providence, RI --- Freshman Justin Marsh (Upper Black Eddy, PA) won all three of his bouts as the WPI wrestling team participated Saturday in the Johnson & Wales quad.  The Engineers fell 22-18 in their opener against Oneonta State, lost to Williams 29-9 in the middle match and dropped a 37-12 decision to the host Wildcats in the finale. 

WPI split its five bouts with Oneonta State but after a pin by Alex Freilich (Worcester, MA) at 174 opened the match, the Red Dragons rattled off five wins in row, including a pin, a forfeit and major decision. The Crimson and Gray rallied at the end, picking up decision wins by Tyler Tilbe (Woodbury, CT) at 141, Mike Perruccio (Pelham, NH) at 149, Andrew Tanner (Danville, NH) at 157 and Marsh at 165, but couldn't rack up enough points to claim the win. 

A similar formula played out against Williams as Duncan McKinnon (Colchester, CT) got WPI on the board at 174 with a 5-3 triumph.  This time the Ephs streaked ahead by winning the next seven bouts before Tanner and Marsh claimed wins by decision at 157 and 165 respectively.    

In the nightcap, the Engineers dropped the opening six matches versus the hosts.  WPI again was strong late, wrapping up with three wins in the final four bouts, including a forfeit by Tilbe at 141 and decisions from Perruccio at 157 and Marsh at 165. 

WPI (2-3) is off until after the New Year's holiday when host Rhode Island College in the Sports and Recreation Center on Wednesday, January 9th.  The first bout it slated for 7pm.
