Boston, MA --- The WPI women's track and field team finished seventh overall at the New England Division III Championships on Saturday at the Track at New Balance. The Engineers racked up 33 team points, backed by two titles and seven total All-NED3 finishes.

Graduate student
Grace Hadley (North Reading, MA) had an outstanding day, taking home two wins, a school record, and a Championship record. In the mile, she ran an event-winning time of 4:45.94 that bettered her own school record and set a new Championship record. The last 800m of the mile saw her go 2:16.05, as she won her first New England title and nabbed the number one time in NCAA Division III this season. Hadley later collected her second title in the 3,000m event, winning the race in 9:41.14.

Senior
Morgan Collins (Hudson, MA) also set a new WPI school record, taking third place in the weight throw. Her best toss of 16.13m surpassed WPI Hall of Famer Krista Baker's '10 mark of 15.97m, done in 2011.

Elise Deshusses (Chapel Hill, NC) nabbed All-NED3 honors with a fourth-place finish in a time of 9:27.98.

Vivienne Evans (Newtown Square, PA), senior
Leithsa Dimanche (Billerica, MA), sophomore
Corryn Fisher (Swansea, MA), and senior
Jazmyn Ewing (Worcester, MA) combined for a sixth place finish, going 1:46.22.

Two other Engineers added All-NED3 individual performances at the event. Senior
Elizabeth Matticoli (South Brunswick, NJ) chipped in with team points via a seventh-place finish, going 14.57m, while senior
Amanda Borden (Sherborn, MA) took eighth in the high jump with a leap of 1.56m.

Elsewhere,
Charlotte Kokernak was just .06 seconds from a podium finish in the 1k, where she ran a 3:04.93 to take ninth place.
Amelia Kokernak and Guilfoyle narrowly missed out on team points, taking ninth and 10th overall, as Kokernak ran a 5:05.97 and Guilfoyle went 5:06.22.

Corryn Fisher (Swansea, MA) also notched a season-best time of 9.48 in the 60m hurdle prelims to wrap up the meet highlights.

WPI is back in action on Saturday, March 2, as qualified student-athletes will compete at the All-New England Championships in Boston. Select Engineers may also compete at the Tufts Qualifier on the same day.
