Medfield, MA --- The WPI women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the Tufts Spring Stampede on Saturday with a series of strong performances, highlighted by a hurdles victory from senior
Bethany Brown (Allentown, PA) and multiple personal records.

Brown led the Engineers with a victory in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 1:03.97, while senior
Bailey Allmon (Woodbine, MD) followed in fifth (1:06.84) in the event. The duo later teamed with freshman
Sabrina Cady (Lowell, MA) and sophomore
Julia Fronc (Plaistow, NH) to place fifth in the 4x400-meter relay (4:10.66).

Elsewhere on the track, graduate student
Vivienne Evans (Newtown Square, PA) turned in a season-best performance in the 100-meter dash, placing fourth in 12.54. Freshman
Samantha Alley (Randolph, NJ) added a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (16.29), while freshman
Addison Collins (Tyngsboro, MA) followed close behind in 10th (16.64). In the 400 meters, Cady paced WPI with a ninth-place finish (1:03.24).

In the field events, freshman
Addison Pong (Bolton, MA) delivered an eighth-place showing in the shot put with a mark of 10.96 meters (35-11.50), while freshman
Reese Dyson (Schwenksville, PA) placed ninth in the discus (32.39m). Senior
Katy Gorden (Wayne, NJ) added a 10th-place finish in the javelin (31.97m).

The heptathlon trio of sophomore
Caetlyn Embree (Sherborn, MA), sophomore
Emma Conway (Suffield, CT), and senior
Lauren Coutu (Baldwinville, MA) completed two days of competition with strong overall results. Embree finished 14th overall with 3,578 points, Conway placed 16th with 3,468 points, and Coutu took 17th with 3,408 points. Both Embree and Conway recorded new personal-best point totals, while Coutu finished just shy of her career best.

Up next, WPI has one final tune-up before postseason competition, as the Engineers will take part in the Trinity Invitational on Saturday in Hartford, CT.
