Boston, MA --- WPI women's track and field competition was highlighted by
Vivienne Evans (Newton Square, PA) earning All-New England honors at the NEICAAA Championships in Boston as the women's DMR claimed the event title at Tufts.

The Engineers tied 17th overall and tied-fifth among NCAA Division III competition.
Â
Evans recorded a personal best of 7.80 in the 60m dash on Saturday morning at the Track at New Balance for a fifth-place mark in the prelims to earn a spot in the final where she followed with a 7.83 time for sixth overall and All-NEICAAA status. The senior sprinter claimed her second honor of the day in the 200m final after finishing seventh overall and posting time of 25.72.

Elizabeth Matticoli (South Brunswick, NJ) logged an 11.05m heave that earned 11th-place.

Rachel Hurley (Peterborough, NH) logged a ninth-place performance in the 3,000-meter with a 10:35.13 mark missing out on All-New England honors by four seconds.

Meanwhile, in Medford at the Tufts Qualifying Meet,
Amelia Kokernak (Niskayuna, NY),
Isabel Hallal (Foxboro, MA),
Elise Deshusses (Chapel Hill, NC) and
Grace Hadley (North Reading, MA) combined forces to claim the DMR title with a 11:40.21 time. The first-place time bested next closest squad by over five seconds for the second-fastest time in NCAA Division III while setting a new program standard in the event.

Hadley concluded the day at Tufts with a 2:12.23 time in the 800m for the event title and ranks seventh after the conversion putting her at 2:10.73.

The 2024 NCAA DIII men's and women's indoor track and field championships begin when selections are released on NCAA.com on the evening of Sunday, March 3. The student-athletes will then compete from Friday, March 8 through Saturday, March 9 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, hosted by Norfolk State.Â
