Boston, MA --- WPI men's track and field closed out the All-New England Championships with a pair of school records and All-NEICAAA honors on Saturday at The Track at New Balance.
In the circle, freshman
Michael Zou (Worcester, MA) placed 17th in the shotput after tossing for 13.49m on his final attempt.
On the track,
Avi Bisoondial (Millbury, MA) recorded a fifth-place finish in the mile behind only DI competitors after crossing the line at 4:11.61 for a new school record and All-NEICAAA distinction.
Graduate student
David Reynolds (Andover, NH) followed up with a record-breaking performance of his own in the 3,000-meter run after logging an 8:18.76 time to recapture his record that was taken by Bissoondial just last week. The run was good for fourth place and All-New England recognition.
The Engineers finish the NEICAAA Championships 16th overall with 14 points and fourth among NCAA Division III competitors.
The 2024 NCAA DIII men's and women's indoor track and field championships begin when selections are released on NCAA.com on the evening of Sunday, March 3. The student-athletes will then compete from Friday, March 8 through Saturday, March 9 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, hosted by Norfolk State.
