Boston, MA --- The WPI women's indoor track and field team continued its season on Friday at the BU Terrier Classic with eight student-athletes in action at the Boston meet.
In the middle distances, senior
Bethany Brown (Allentown, PA) posted a personal-best performance in the 800 meters, crossing the line in 2:21.65. Junior
Maeve Steckley (Rochester, NY) followed with a season-best effort of her own, running 2:22.88.
Freshman
Sabrina Cady (Lowell, MA) led the Engineers in the 1000 meters with a time of 3:11.08, while sophomore
Catherine Daly (Groton, MA) followed closely behind at 3:11.75.
WPI also saw action in the sprints, paced by sophomore
Rayna Thompson (Brentwood, NH), who clocked a time of 25.72 in the 200 meters. Graduate student
Vivienne Evans (Newtown Square, PA) added a mark of 26.25, and sophomore
Julia Fronc (Plaistow, NH) rounded out the event for the Engineers at 27.70.
In the field, freshman
Ella Stone (Branford, CT) represented WPI in the triple jump, recording a mark of 10.22 meters (33-6.5).
The WPI men participate in BU's Terrier Classic beginning tomorrow at 10am while the women return to action on Saturday, February 7, when the Engineers travel to Medford, MA, to compete at the Tufts 6-Way Meet.
