WPI shares the honor with the Coast Guard after another competitive four-day championship showcase that took place last weekend at MIT in Cambridge.

The Crimson and Gray secured a third-place team finish at the NEWMAC Championships, totaling 731 points. Facing a deep and balanced conference field, the Engineers delivered consistent performances across the meet to earn their place among the league's top programs.

A highlight of the championship came from first-year Lucas Brown, who posted a third-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:19.23.

The WPI coaching staff is led by head coach Paul Bennett and includes assistants Maddie Katz, Spencer Coffin '13, Mark Wild, and Ashton Lyon '23. The group guided the Engineers through a season marked by steady progress, depth across disciplines, and strong execution at the conference championship meet.

The Co-Coaching Staff of the Year recognition adds another chapter to Bennett's tenure marking the sixth occasion him and the staff have been recognized by the NEWMAC with the most recent honor came following the 2023-2024 season.
