Marlboro, MA --- Senior Alex Cole (Weymouth, MA) highlighted the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) postseason honors being named the Men's Track Athlete of the Meet as the Crimson and Gray totaled a dozen All-NEWMAC honors as released recently.
The Engineers, who finished as the team runner-up with 202 points on the men's side, were recognized across multiple events, highlighted by Cole being named the NEWMAC Track Athlete of the Meet.
Cole delivered a dominant performance on the track, winning the 100 meters in 10.41 to earn First Team All-Conference honors and a second team honor in the 200m dash before helping the 4x100m relay finish as the runner up.
Senior Ethan Ramirez (Burlington, CT) also secured First Team All-Conference recognition after capturing the conference title in the decathlon, showcasing his versatility across the two-day event.
Junior Ethan Anderson (North Haven, CT) claimed All-NEWMAC status with three nods as he had a runner-up finish in the shot put and hammer throw events before taking the top mark in the discus.
WPI added depth in the sprints as Sam Manteria (Franklin, MA) earned Second Team All-Conference honors with a runner-up finish in the 100 meters.
Other second team honorees include Thomas Skerry (Dedham, MA) in the 800, Everett Mosher (Chester, VT) in the 5k, Will Larsen (Chelmsford, MA) in the 400mH, Gavin Fleck (Bend, OR) in the pole vault. On the women's side, Addie Pong (Bolton, MA) had earned the Shot Put title as she sits as one of four that won their respective event.
The NEWMAC All-Conference teams are determined by finish at the championship meet, with event winners earning first team honors and second-place finishers garnering second team distinction.
WPI now shifts its focus to postseason competition with the New England Division III Championships today and tomorrow.
