Everett Mosher-WPI Men's Track & Field-2026

Mosher Breaks School Record as Track and Field Competes at MIT Final Qualifier

Everett Mosher
Cambridge, MA --- Senior Everett Mosher (Chester, VT) broke the WPI school record in the 1500 meters Thursday evening as the Engineers wrapped up competition at the MIT Final Qualifier with a series of strong performances on both the men's and women's sides.

Mosher delivered one of the top performances in program history, placing fifth in the 1500-meter final with a time of 3:47.63 to eclipse Ben Steeves' previous school record of 3:50.02 by more than two seconds. The performance also strengthened Mosher's case for a berth in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships. Should he earn selection to nationals, Mosher would join Steeves as the only runners in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships during cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field in the same academic year.

Senior Gavin Fleck (Bend, OR) cleared 4.88 meters (16-0) to finish fourth in the pole vault as he awaits potential qualification to the NCAA meet.

Senior Bethany Brown (Allentown, PA) added an event victory for the Engineers, winning the women's 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.13. Brown closed out her outdoor career ranked as the third-fastest performer in program history in the event.

Freshman Aloiye Okhipo (Milford, MA) capped an impressive rookie season with a runner-up finish in the 110-meter hurdles final, crossing in 14.86.

Sophomore Rayna Thompson (Brentwood, NH) closed her strong sophomore campaign with a third-place finish in the women's 400 meters in 57.47, while freshman Addison Pong (Bolton, MA) concluded an impressive first collegiate season by placing fourth in the shot put with a toss of 11.07 meters (36-4).

Sophomore Will Larsen (Chelmsford, MA) placed sixth in the men's 400-meter hurdles in 54.24 to conclude another strong season in the event, where he is the current school record holder.

In the field events, senior Brett Gerlach (Lock Haven, PA) wrapped up an accomplished collegiate career with a seventh-place finish in the long jump at 6.43 meters (21-1 1/4). Gerlach leaves the program ranked among WPI's all-time top-10 performers across multiple events during his standout career with the Engineers.

Junior Matt Richards (Peabody, MA) added a sixth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 55.30 meters (181-5), while junior Ethan Anderson (North Haven, CT) competed in both throwing events, placing seventh in the discus at 43.61 meters (143-1) and 10th in the shot put with a toss of 13.89 meters (45-7).

Freshman Brinson Wyche (Danbury, CT) turned in a 10th-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 9:55.13. In the sprints, junior Sam Manteria (Wilbraham, MA) clocked 10.93 in the 100-meter first round while sophomore Justin Serrecchia (Lakeville, MA) recorded an 11.09.

Selections for the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be announced Friday via NCAA.com. The national championship meet is scheduled for May 21-23 at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, WI.  NEWMAC champion and All-New England performer Alex Cole (Weymouth, MA) will represent the Crimson and Gray, while Mosher and Fleck learn if they will earn a spot in the three-day event.
