NCAA Championship Qualifiers-WPI Men's Track & Field-2026

Cole, Mosher and Fleck Headed to NCAA Men's Track and Field Championships in La Crosse, WI

WPI NCAA Men's Track and Field Qualifiers
Indianapolis, IN --- A trio of WPI seniors - Alex Cole (Weymouth, MA), Everett Mosher (Chester, VT) and Gavin Fleck (Bend, OR) - have earned selection to next weekend's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The three-day meet begins Thursday, May 21st at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex, hosted by Wisconsin-La Crosse.

All three have previously earned All-America honors, with Cole receiving recognition as part of last year's outdoor 4x100 relay squad, while Mosher and Fleck both captured All-America accolades this past winter at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Cole will be making his first individual appearance at an NCAA Championship. The 2026 NEWMAC Track Athlete of the Year will compete in the 100 meters, where he is seeded 18th with a time of 10.41. Cole swept the 100 and 200 meters at last month's NEWMAC Championships and later advanced to the finals of the 100 meters at both the New England Division III Championships - won by the Engineers two weeks ago - and last weekend's Farley Interregional Extravaganza (F.I.R.E.) meet at Williams. The senior will begin competition Friday in the preliminary heats.

Mosher, who earned second-team All-America honors in the mile at the indoor championships two months ago, vaulted from the mid-40s on the national performance list to the No. 13 seed in the 1,500 meters after running a school-record 3:47.63 at the MIT Final Qualifier. The senior joins Ben Steeves as the only student-athletes in program history to compete in the NCAA Cross Country, Indoor Track and Field and Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Mosher will race Thursday in the preliminary heats.

Fleck will be in search of his fourth career All-America citation in his final NCAA meet. The senior pole vaulter is seeking his second career indoor/outdoor All-America double after reaching the podium with a seventh-place finish at the 2024 Indoor Championship before later earning second-team All-America honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with a ninth-place finish at the 2024 Outdoor Championship. This past winter, Fleck placed eighth at the NCAA Indoor Championship. He has cleared 5.00 meters this spring and will compete Saturday beginning at noon Eastern.
