Sam Manteria
Springfield, MA --- The WPI men's track and field team delivered a dominant performance at the New England Division III Championships, capturing the team title behind multiple individual champions and a deep collection of All-New England performances.

The Engineers totaled 115 points to claim the championship, more than doubling the output of Wesleyan and UMass Dartmouth, who tied for second with 56 points each.

Sophomore Sam Manteria (Wilbraham, MA) led the way with a pair of New England titles, winning both the 100 meters and 200 meters to cement himself as the top sprinter at the meet. He also anchored the 4x100-meter relay team of Justin Serrecchia (Lakeville, MA), Brett Gerlach (Lock Haven, PA), and Alex Cole (Weymouth, MA) to a runner-up finish, earning All-New England honors. Also in the individual 100, Cole added a third-place finish (10.77) and Serrecchia was seventh (11.01) as both added regional honors as part of WPI's sprint success.

Freshman Matthew Meerdink (Ballston Spa, NY) added a championship performance in the 3000-meter steeplechase, crossing in 9:25.46, while sophomore Colin Britner (Hampton, CT) finished fifth in the same event (9:37.47) to also earn All-New England distinction.

In the 1500 meters, senior Everett Mosher (Chester, VT) delivered a standout race, placing second in 3:58.26, missing the title by just 0.01 seconds. Mosher also contributed to the 4x800-meter relay alongside Thomas Skerry (Dedham, MA), Alden Betterley (Bow, NH), and Brinson Wyche (Corvallis, MT), which placed second overall (7:50.93). Individually, Skerry was second in the 800 meters (1:54.22), while Wyche added a fifth-place finish (1:54.73). Betterley competed in the event, posting a time of 1:56.61.

In the hurdles, freshman Aloiye Okhipo (Milford, MA) earned a runner-up finish in the 110-meter hurdles to secure All-New England honors. In the 400-meter hurdles, sophomore Will Larsen (Chelmsford, MA) set a school record with a time of 54.11 to place fifth, while sophomore Jurjen Bouvier (Longmeadow, MA) finished seventh (54.58), both earning All-New England recognition.

In the throws, junior Ethan Anderson (North Haven, CT) placed fifth in the shot put (15.04m) and also competed in the discus (40.09m). Sophomore John Cummings (Dallas, PA) recorded a personal-best 44.79 meters to place fifth in the discus and added a mark of 13.66 meters in the shot put. Both add All-New England honors to their names.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Bouvier, Burrell, Will Kelley (Medford, MA), and Anthony Minichiello (Burlington, MA) closed the meet with an eighth-place finish in 3:24.02, earning yet another regional accolade for the Engineers.
