Alexandra Wolf (Clinton, CT) and
Leah Uglevich (Maynard, MA) collected goals for visiting WPI, but the Engineers fell to Trinity 3-2 Tuesday evening in a non-conference field hockey contest.
WPI, which had entered the game with three straight shutout victories, is now 4-4 in 2024, while the host Bantams also move to .500 on the season at 3-3.
The Crimson and Gray got the scoring started at 9:04 of the first quarter. After a long pass toward the goal by Sollecito, the ball found the stick of Wolf in the scramble, who tapped it in past Trinity defenders for her first marker of the season.

s Aly Janssen (Old Greenwich, CT), but
Tatum Stickney (Byfield, MA) recovered the rebound and slid the ball into the back the net with 2:56 to go before intermission.
The Bantams took control of the game in the third quarter. A 38th minute penalty corner resulted in an
Izzy Deveney (Westport, CT) pass to
Brooke DiBiase (Chatham, NJ), who wound up a powerful shot into goal. In the final seconds of the frame, a sharp pass found Deveney's stick, who directed it to
Maeve Hymovitz (Needham, MA). The junior calmly knocked a shot past WPI defenders for a 3-1 Trinity lead.
The Engineers continue to fight through the fourth quarter. A long ball inside the circle by
Eve Martineau (Greene, ME) landed in the path of
Arie Lang (West Hartford, CT), who delivered the ball to Uglevich. The junior backhanded a shot into the net for her third goal of the year at 50:07.
For the game, the Bantams led in shots, 14-7, and held a slight advantage in penalty corners, 3-2.
WPI sees two netminders throughout the contest. Moreau guarded the net for the first three quarters, with
Myles Lakin (Reading, MA) finishing out for the last quarter. Moreau blocked two shots and Lakin added 3 stops. Trinity's
Hayley Gable (Gilbertsville, PA) made one save on the night on her way to collecting the victory.
The Engineers return home to battle Clark on Saturday at 4:30pm as part of Homecoming Weekend. Trinity will host Roger Williams at 11am this Saturday.
